In Loving Memory of Ernst Knolle 1925 – 2020
Ernst Knolle started building models of his transportation system in 1965 and received his first patent on May 23, 1967. In 1987, Ernst started working full time on Knolle Magnetrans out of his garage in South San Francisco, California. Between 1984 and 2012, he built a full size maglev vehicle and presented twelve papers on maglev technology at conventions in Europe, Asia, and the US. Ernst Knolle has four US patents for his inventions.
